The UCF Knight Men’s Soccer team are the champions of the Sun Belt Conference.
UCF defeated #16 Marshall in Huntington to complete a stunning run in the SBC Tournament and capture its first title since
joining the conference in 2023. UCF, the 5-seed n the tournament, defeated 4-seed Georgia Southern, top-seed Kentucky and 3-seed Marshall en route to the title.
It’s UCF’s first conference tournament title since they won The American in the COVID-delayed Spring 2021 season.
The victory also guarantees UCF its fourth trip to the NCAA Tournament in eight years under Scott Calabrese.
Offensive Onslaught
UCF opened the scoring in the 17th minute with Frederic Benedix finding the far post:
After halftime, UCF continued to put the pressure on Marshall, with Lilian Ricol getting free and putting away another gorgeous feed from Claudel N’goubou in the 51st minute:
14 minutes later, Rocol went coast to coast off a counterattack to put UCF up three:
Marshall got one back in the 73rd, but it was too little too late. 17 minutes later, UCF celebrated the title:
