If Marc-André ter Stegen is going to take another run at earning a place with the German national team, this might be his last chance.
The 34-year-old goalkeeper will be sure to get a lot of action in the Eredivisie and potentially put himself on the radar of German national team head coach Jürgen Klopp:
“Marc has an outstanding track record, and his qualities are widely recognized.
He is an immediate addition to our squad. Marc and I know each other well, and I’m looking forward to working with him again. We have been working on bringing him here for quite some time, so we’re very pleased that he has signed his contract and can now get started,” said Ajax technical director Jordi Cruijff via a press release.
Ter Stegen is expected to compete for the No. 1 job on the squad and — if healthy — should be able to lock the position down. In an offensively-driven league, Ter Stegen will get the chance to showcase himself.
