Per a Spurs press release:
The San Antonio Spurs are brightening the holiday season for local families through community-centered initiatives and player engagements as part of the annual “NBA Season of Giving,”
a five-week celebration running from mid-November through December when NBA teams give back by supporting and uplifting youth, families and organizations in their communities.
The Spurs have teamed up with Elf Louise Christmas Project, Goodwill, H-E-B, JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort and Spa, Methodist Healthcare and Methodist Healthcare Ministries, Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union (RBFCU) and San Antonio Food Bank as they host a variety of events.
Spurs players will serve Thanksgiving dinner, give out holiday gifts to kids, and provide with decorated Christmas trees to families.
Patricia Mejia, Chief Impact and Inclusion Officer at SS&E stated,
“The holidays can be a difficult time for many families, especially this year as some face added challenges. Season of Giving is about meeting our community where they are, extending a hand, sharing joy and helping ensure every family feels supported and seen.”
Last season, Spurs Season of Giving events expanded throughout Bexar County, including more than 5,000 turkeys, toys and other household necessities.
