Jets rookie tight end Kenyon Sadiq is going to miss time in training camp per head coach Aaron Glenn.
It’s a positive that Sadiq is likely to be ready by Week 1, but the Jets are surely hoping he won’t be out for long. Training
camp reps are arguably more important to Sadiq than any other player on the team.
Sadiq is a rookie who is working to master the playbook. He also plays one of the most complex positions to learn in the NFL. He is also a player working to refine his technique. And he needs to develop chemistry with quarterback Geno Smith. Simply put, these practices are built to benefit players like Sadiq far more than your run of the mill NFL veterans.
Glenn’s statement has a lot of wiggle room so it is conceivable that Sadiq’s absence will be short lived. That certainly would be a positive for the Jets.
