Well, the thing that many Miami Dolphins fans have long clamored for, the benching of starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, has finally happened. Some other fans are, of course, not happy about this change to the roster, but it would also be malpractice for the coaching staff not see what they have in rookie quarterback Quinn Ewers now that the season is lost.
Speculation about what will happen to Tua now is all over the place. Some want the team to trade him, which seems impossible given his current
contract. Cutting him seems as unlikely, given that the dead money would seriously impact the team’s ability to be anything close to competitive in 2026. The likely direction is that he will be on the team next season and then cut during the following offseason.
