Over the past few months, we’ve heard various rumors about AEW’s Bobby Lashley being sidelined with an injury.
Since he last wrestled at November’s Full Gear PPV, we’ve heard that Lashley’s injury was “significant”. That notion was seemingly backed-up by a more recent report that AEW would be adding injury time to the 49-year-old former WWE & TNA World and AEW Tag champ’s contract.
But not so, says Big Bob. An interview from early February’s For The Love of Wrestling fan convention in Manchester, England
that just hit the web, Lashley said he’s focused on winning gold with his brothers in The Hurt Syndicate. He also said there are no health issues preventing that from happening:
“All I want to do is win titles, so that’s where I’m really focused on. When we get back, between Shelton and MVP, we want to do things collectively. We want to do things as a group. So I think we’re going to go after the Trios guys. Let’s see what we can do with those guys. Because I think that that’s what we need, man. The crowd loves us over there. We have an opportunity to bring back what we have before. And it’s real, man.
“So I am healed. Everybody thought I was hurt, I’m not hurt. You can’t hurt the All Mighty.”
Benjamin has been off for a little more than a month now himself, so it seems Tony Khan and team are probably waiting until after March 15’s Revolution PPV to reintroduce Lashley or The Syndicate back into the mix. Hopefully it won’t take much longer than that, but folks have been known to get lost in the shuffle…
What do you make of Lashley refuting rumors he needs a long injury layoff? When do you think we’ll see The Hurt Syndicate back on Dynamite or Collision, and what will they be doing when they return?
