Bayern Munich honorary president and hardened criminal Ulrich Hoeneß does not like current Bayern sporting director Max “very sensitive” Eberl very much, and he quite clearly doesn’t think much of Eberl’s decision to bring in Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea, on loan with a conditional obligation.
Hoeneß was on a sports talk show Sunday morning when he decided to blab about the supposed details of the Jackson signing, claiming that there was no way the obligation would get triggered because it’s based
on Jackson making 40 starts this season.
“[Jackson] will never [start 40 games]”

Hoeneß is probably right about Jackson not starting 40 games — he started 38 games for us last season; by comparison, Harry Kane made 46 starts in all competitions for Bayern all of last season — though that doesn’t necessarily rule out Jackson staying with Bayern anyway. A lower fee could always be negotiated if he does well. Or tax cheat Hoeneß, who also claims that Jackson himself paid €3m of the €16.5m loan fee to make the move happen, could just be telling porky pies.
In either case, Jackson’s long-term future is far from clear at the moment.
