David Datro Fofana, who may have set a record for most loans in the least amount of time during his brief, 3.5-year Chelsea career, has today officially moved on from the club, joining Swiss Super League outfit Servette FC in a cut-rate deal, reported to be worth €2.5m, plus a few Toblerones as potential bonuses.
The 23-year-old striker joined the Blues from Molde for a Norwegian league record €10m in the winter transfer window of 2022-23, spending the rest of that season with the first-team and making
four appearances. He’d spent the next three years at five different clubs: Union Berlin, Burnley, Göztepe, Fatih Karamgürük, and lastly, RC Strasbourg. All were six-month loans, except for the Göztepe one, which was instead cut short by injury.
Overall, and considering the constant moving about, he didn’t do too badly with 16 goals in 65 appearances, so hopefully with a bit of stability at Servette, he can kick on with his once-promising career.
Good luck, DDF!
