The effect that former Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel can have on a team typically goes one of two ways.
First, Tuchel can either make a big schematic imprint on a team and revitalize it to make a run to win a trophy. Or, Tuchel can come in, be abrasive, alienate his players, and pave his way right back out the door.
With the English national team, it seems as if Tuchel is avoiding the more volatile of the two choices — at least so far.

has reached double-digit wins faster than mostly every other Three Lions coach except Glenn Hoddle. Tuchel joined Fabio Capello and Walter Winterbottom in reaching 10 wins in 13 games:
Of course, Tuchel has the advantage of coaching Bayern Munch star Harry Kane, whose header goal was the difference in an uninspired 1-0 win over New Zealand on Saturday. Tuchel will need more of Kane’s magic when the real tourney starts in a few days.
