Barcelona midfielder Pedri was a happy man after scoring twice in a 6-0 win for Spain over Turkiye in World Cup qualifying on Sunday night.
La Roja were in brilliant form as they simply swept the hosts aside. Pedri scored twice, Mikel Merino bagged a hat-trick and Ferran Torres was on target in an emphatic victory.
Here’s what Pedri made of it all after the game.
“It was a perfect match. We brought intensity from the start. Credit goes to the team, which came out with everything,” he told Teledeporte.
“We were mentally prepared for a tough game, that they were going to push hard, that we had to come out strong from the start, and that’s what happened. We dominated from the start.
“Every time I score, it feels like I’m scoring a brace, but I’m happy about the win and helping the team. The goals are secondary.”
Pedri has started the season in superb form and was excellent again on Sunday. He’ll now head back to Barcelona to start preparing for next weekend’s clash with Valencia.
