It may have taken a little longer than expected, but it’s official: Saints defensive end Cam Jordan is back for year 16 in New Orleans.
Jordan made the announcement via his X account, stating “One City, One Team, One Final Season”
The 36-year-old finished the 2025 season on a high note with 10.5 sacks; however, he became a free agent for the first time in his NFL career in March. During a postseason interview, the always charismatic Jordan said that while he was
uncertain about what might happen this offseason, his desire was to remain in New Orleans with the team that drafted him back in 2011.
While that may not be a common occurrence that coincides with longevity in the league, the Saints have actually had several players who have only worn the black and gold since their draft day which include Marques Colston, Zach Strief, Ryan Ramczyk, Deuce McAllister, Wayne Martin, Jim Dombrowski, Jim Wilks, Frank Warren, Del Williams and now, Cam Jordan joins that list.
When asked about his relationship with the city he calls his home on May 8, 2025, which was proclaimed “Cam Jordan Day” by the New Orleans City Council, Jordan said, “New Orleans, I say we’re family. We’re locked in. No matter where I go, we are always going to be locked in. I hope I’m in New Orleans for another thousand years. I doubt I’ll live that long, but I’m just saying that’s how deep I feel we’re locked in.”
While financial terms of his new one-year deal have not yet been released, we now know that Cam Jordan will get his wish and remain with the Saints for the remainder of his incredible 16 year NFL career.
