For the second week in a row, the Dallas Cowboys played a game down to the wire. Thankfully, they were able to do enough to improve to 2-2 on the season and hopefully it will help kickstart a long-lasting win streak. Only time will tell though.
Getting the “W” in the interstate rivalry with Houston Texans was the main goal, but it wasn’t always pretty. Below is our good, bad, and ugly from Week 4.
THE GOOD – WR CeeDee Lamb
Javonte Williams deserves a shoutout here for his three touchdown performance, but it was CeeDee Lamb
who had the biggest impact on the game as well as ultimately sealing the victory for the Cowboys. No. 88 had himself a day against the Texans Sunday afternoon, catching a career-high 17 passes resulting in 189 receiving yards and scoring the game-winning TD. He continues to be Dak Prescott’s favorite target/security blanket in the passing game and hopefully continues to be highly productive as the season progresses.
THE BAD – RT Terence Steele
The Cowboys entire offensive line struggled against the Texans defensive front Sunday afternoon, but Terence Steele played poorly in this Week 4 matchup and had to get help much of the game. No. 78 has been somewhat of a liability in pass protection for what seems like years now, and yet, the Cowboys haven’t had a better option to replace him. They traded for Broderick Jones, but so far it looks like they don’t think he is any better.
THE UGLY – Penalties for the Texans
The Cowboys are usually the team getting beat because of penalties. Not on Sunday. The Texans committed 13 penalties for 90 yards in the game. They committed them in the endzone to gift Dallas a score. They gave the Cowboys four first downs on penalties. They put themselves in terrible field position with penalties on kickoff returns. The timing of some of their penalties couldn’t have been worse. It was ugly.
