Good morning, baseball fans!
Yesterday, I highlighted the San Francisco Giants’ upcoming schedule for the week. In the post, I said that I was most interested in the series against the Chicago Cubs that starts tonight, and my reasoning was that I feel like Cubs fans are well represented at Oracle Park, so it should be a fun crowd regardless of the game outcome.
This got me thinking about who my favorite visiting team’s fans are. In the past, I’ve asked you all about which teams you like to watch when
they come to town, but today I wanted to focus on the visiting fans aspect and see which team’s fans you enjoy the most when their team is visiting Oracle Park.
I’m going to go ahead and rule out the Athletics and Los Angeles Dodgers immediately. The combination is too volatile and downright hostile at times. I’ve had some really good experiences with Minnesota Twins fans, even with the Twins shutting out the Giants at that game. Mets fans are pretty cool, and there are quite a few in the Bay Area as well.
But I think the team that I see best represented by visiting fans at Oracle Park most consistently over the years has been the Atlanta Braves. I had a coworker a few years back who was a huge Braves fan, despite being born and raised in Northern California. It might be a millennial thing, because when we were growing up, the only team you could see on TV consistently (other than the local teams) were the Braves, because their games were always played on TBS.
Which visiting team do you think has the best fans at Oracle Park?
