As more than a few viewers of AEW’s Sun., April 12 PPV from Vancouver noticed, Gabe Kidd appeared to suffer an injury in the show’s penultimate match. Kidd appeared to be dealing with an arm issue before disappearing ahead of the closing stretch of The Dogs’ Trios title defense against The Conglomeration.
According Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez, the answer to Micah White’s question is yes. The initial belief was that the former
New Japan talent suffered a dislocated shoulder. AEW sources also told Alvarez that, contrary to speculation going around online, Kidd’s injury didn’t change plans for The Dogs’ first defense of the titles they just won on the latest Collision: “the finish was always for [Kyle] O’Reilly and his team to score the win and the titles, and the injury didn’t cause the finish to change.”
While the just-returned O’Reilly was on the post-Dynasty scrum with fellow champs Orange Cassidy and Roderick Strong, Tony Khan confirmed Kidd suffered a shoulder injury, but said he was still being evaluated for an official diagnosis. AEW’s president also said that David Finlay and Clark Connors partner is out “indefinitely”.
Bad luck for a guy who just officially signed with AEW along with his fellow Dogs. Here’s wishing the 28-year-old Englishman the best in his recovery.
