Real Madrid are closely tracking Atalanta center-back Honest Ahanor, according to reports from Sky Sports, as the club continues to evaluate young defensive talent across Europe.
The 18-year-old joined Atalanta from Genoa in a deal worth €25 million and has quickly established himself as one of the standout young defenders in Serie A. His performances have not gone unnoticed, with Madrid now among the clubs following his development.
Ahanor has already made 28 appearances across Serie A, the Champions
League, and the Coppa Italia this season, showing consistency at a high level despite his age. His rise has also been reflected at international level, where he has recently been called up and made his debut for Italy’s U21 side.
Born in Aversa and of Nigerian descent, Ahanor appears set to represent Italy moving forward.
With injuries and uncertainty affecting Madrid’s defensive line this season, the club’s interest in emerging center-backs aligns with a broader strategy of targeting young, high-upside players capable of contributing both immediately and long term.
