There’s no need to rehash my feelings about the Cup from Saturday night. I hate it. My feelings are that this carries the same level of importance as a Summer League championship, with the exception being the names representing the Knicks during tonight’s matchup.
Judging by the response to my last post, most of our readers (though not all) disagreed and are fully on board with the Cup and the win-or-go-home, sudden-death feel it brings. Others shared my concern that the risk of injury in what is essentially
an exhibition game masquerading as an unofficial 83rd regular-season contest simply isn’t worth it if it puts a real NBA championship at risk.
Nevertheless, here we are, just a few hours before tip-off between the Knicks and Spurs for the Cup.
