Jesse Bisiwu has taken very little time to make an impact at Barcelona after scoring twice in Sunday’s friendly win over FC Basel.
The youngster has only just joined the club but is already being tipped to be a hit by former Club Brugge sporting director Devy Rigaux who negotiated the deal with Barca.
“Other teams wanted him, but none as much as Barça; I saw absolute quality in Bisiwu; one of those wingers that Ajax , for example, used to have so often,” he told AS.
“He’s a very calm kid, with lots
of little brothers and sisters, who has confidence in himself but isn’t arrogant. He’s well-liked in the locker room because he’s affectionate; still a kid who can leave his shin pads at home.
“I think [Lamine Yamal] can be like a big brother to him at Barça . They belong to that TikTok generation, and Bisiwu has that X factor; he’s a charismatic kid, and I think he can fit in well at Barça.”
Devy also played down suggestions that Bisiwu could go out on loan and says Barcelona will want to take a good look at him following his arrival this summer.
“I think Barça wants to see how he develops this year training with them, both as an athlete and as a person. Perhaps the second year will be the important one for making a decision,” he added.
