PRIORITY #1: Priority No. 1 Monday night is avoiding a repeat of last year, when
the Bears stomped them to the tune of 281 rushing yards, 10th-most ever against the Eagles and 5th-most ever in Philly. The Bears physically beat up the Eagles, who missed 13 tackles along the way in a 24-15 loss at the Linc. “It’s a painful week because you have to watch that film over again,” Jordan Davis said. “But it’s very enlightening, especially playing a scheme that’s kind of similarish with our offense, just providing those cutback lanes and stuff like that. So it’s one thing about just going out there and being disciplined. It’s another thing about just playing style and being a defense that we know we are.” The Bears have picked up this year where they left off last year. They’re not only No. 1 in the NFL in rushing attempts, rushing yards, rushing touchdowns and yards per carry, they are the first NFL team with at least 425 yards, a 6.1 average and six rushing touchdowns after two games in 46 years, since Billy Sims the 1980 Lions. Meanwhile, two games in, the Eagles are 24thin run defense at 127 yards per game, 19th in yards per carry at 4.2 and tied for 23rd allowing three rushing touchdowns. So far, nobody has stopped the Bears and the Eagles haven’t stopped anybody. Scary matchup. It’s a scary matchup. No matter who the Bears’ quarterback is.
Eagles Film Preview: Offense should have good opportunities against this Bears defense – BGN
The Bears’ defense has a clear personality. Dennis Allen wants to pressure the quarterback, play aggressively behind it, and trust his corners to survive tough outside matchups. I can see plenty of opportunities to score. The Bears have some good individual defenders, but I don’t think they have the talent across the back end to play this aggressively without giving up chances in both the passing and running game.

That loss, coupled with the Caleb Williams injury, dropped our confidence poll by 20 points this week, down to 74%. The Bears face another top-tier defensive coordinator this week, but the Philadelphia Eagles’ Vic Fangio is blitzing only 24.2% of the time. When compared to Flores’ 75.9%, this will feel like a drastic difference. Fangio’s creativity isn’t always up front and will show more on the back end, as he’ll most often show a two-high safety look, then rotate to disguise coverages.
Game Preview – PHI at CHI – Iggles Blitz
Jalen Hurts and the Eagles offense will be facing a defense that has some issues. CBs Tyrique Stevenson and Jaylon Johnson have both given up big plays. Johnson is really struggling this year. Double moves and play-action passes give him problems. I would try to get DeVonta Smith on him as much as possible. Dontayvion Wicks can also get the best of Johnson. I expect Zach Ertz to play this week. He seemed comfortable with the playbook and has a week of practice under his belt. With Dallas Goedert out, the Birds need a TE who is a reliable receiver. Ertz isn’t going to like he did in 2017, but he should still be able to get open and move the chains.

With Jaxson Dart out for the regular season following his Friday surgery to repair meniscus and MCL damage, the New York Giants have turned to Jameis Winston under center. But will the former No. 1 pick be Big Blue’s season-long answer at quarterback? New York is mulling the addition of a veteran signal-caller in the coming weeks, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo and ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Sunday. Possible targets include free agents Jimmy Garoppolo and Brandon Allen, and backup QBs Justin Fields, Mac Jones, J.J. McCarthy and Gardner Minshew, NFL Network and ESPN reported.

I have written many times that John Harbaugh raises the floor for the Giants. Based on his track record, 15 winning seasons in 18 years as a head coach and just one season of fewer than eight victories, that should absolutely be the case. Without Jaxson Dart for the rest of the season that theory is about to be tested. If it is correct, this season will not go completely off the rails, no matter who is at quarterback.
Cowboys interested in trade for Steelers CB Joey Porter Jr. – Blogging The Boys
The Dallas Cowboys see their window of opportunity to make a Super Bowl run as right now. Owner and general manager Jerry Jones hasn’t been shy about making a move to improve his team, and he may already be laying the groundwork for a potential in-season trade. NFL Insider Adam Schefter says the Cowboys, along with a handful of other teams, have inquired about trading for Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Joey Porter Jr. Schefter also says that the Steelers are willing to listen to offers, but wouldn’t deal their cornerback unless they got a strong compensation package in return.
Commanders QB Jayden Daniels reportedly back ‘within three weeks’ – Hogs Haven
The Commanders got some good news regarding Jayden Daniels health earlier this week. General manager Adam Peters said in an interview with 106.7-FM The Fan that surgery wasn’t on the table and that injured reserve wasn’t being considered after Daniels dislocated his left (non-throwing) elbow in a Week 2 loss to Dallas. NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport provided more of a timeline for a return to play on Sunday morning. He said that Daniels is expect back “within three weeks.“
Rams deserve criticism for handling of Myles Garrett’s injury – Turf Show Times
It sounds like the Rams are expecting to have Puka Nacua against the Eagles in Week 4 but the situations bears monitoring.
And even more concerning is the fact the Rams have landed in the same scenario with Nacua, although it’s different because no matter the team’s decision the star receiver would miss games. The bigger looming question with Nacua is whether the Rams are managing his injury like a team that wants to re-sign him long-term or as someone they need back in order to maximize the last year on his rookie contract. If the team decides to take a longer approach to Nacua’s recover, that could provide insight into how they approach his expiring deal. These two injuries—and the Rams’ response—have the potential to decide the outcome of the 2026 season in Los Angeles.

In other words, he doesn’t want to diminish his contract year by not playing with the characteristic explosiveness. The team, per Schefter, doesn’t believe surgery will be needed, but it’s “not entirely off the table.” It’s not a hold-in, per se. It’s apparently a real injury, which brings together a desire to not make it worse and a goal to play as well as he possibly can, when he plays. Here’s the bottom line — Nacua quite possibly would be playing if he had his second deal and the security that goes along with it.
