Jürgen Klopp is now the new head coach of the German national football team. Between Germany’s elimination from the World Cup to now, it’s taken just under a month for the 58-year-old to be presented in his new role. Speaking at his first press conference as manager of Die Mannschaft, Klopp said he has a few ideas on how to keep Germany in tip-top shape.
“As a club manager, when the Nations League was introduced, I thought, ‘wow, now there are no more friendlies at all’. We have to strike a balance
between development and performance,” Klopp said (as captured by X account @iMiaSanMia). “There will be a solution, I have a few ideas in mind. We won’t be pushing eleven players to the limit.”
Klopp is known for transforming his teams into highly successful units, as proven by his time with Mainz 05, Borussia Dortmund, and Liverpool. With Germany, he has a squad full of talent but no direction and untapped talent waiting to be discovered. If backs his claim and follows through with it, then it won’t be long before Germany can go head-to-head with the big boys.
