Newly-crowned UFC light heavyweight champion, Magomed Ankalaev, is currently training for his Alex Pereira rematch atop the upcoming UFC 320 pay-per-view (PPV) event, scheduled for Sat., Oct. 4, 2025 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Ankalaev (and the bookies) expect the ”Poatan” fight to be “much easier” the second time around.
“I think the rematch will be much easier than the first fight,” Ankalaev told Ushatayka. “I will do everything to dominate. I don’t think I’ll have any problems anywhere.
I want him to approach this fight 100-percent ready so that he doesn’t have any excuses like the last fight, that he wasn’t prepared.”
Pereira was allegedly sick and injured ahead of his UFC 313 loss to Ankalaev.
Should “Big Ank” prevail this fall in “Sin City,” then he would welcome a fight against current middleweight champion, Khamzat Chimaev. “Borz” recently teased a scenario in which he becomes the first UFC fighter in history to claim three titles in three different weight classes.
“I’m still in this division,” Ankalaev added. “If someone wants to move up and test my weight class, I always say ‘welcome.’ If he moves up, he moves up. No problem.”
It might be a problem for this hungry contender.
