Maybe you’re like me and the Kansas City Chiefs’ loss completely ruined your Sunday afternoon. I couldn’t bring myself to watch football anymore until halftime on Monday night. Yes, the “Sunday Night Football” matchup was horrible — Philadelphia Eagles versus Washington Commanders. But it could have been the 1972 Dolphins versus 2007 Patriots, and I wouldn’t have watched. The Chiefs left too bad a taste in my mouth.
Hopefully the Chiefs have moved on, but I’m still working through my anger over that
game.
Regardless of the Chiefs’ clunker, this NFL season continues to be entertaining and unpredictable. No team is unbeaten in the league, and only one team remains winless. Preseason favorites such as the Los Angeles Rams or Seattle Seahawks are only .500. The Pittsburgh Steelers and Jacksonville Jaguars are surprising first-place teams in their respective divisions.
The Arrowhead Pride staff returned this week with the latest edition of the Power Rankings. This week’s rankings saw two new entrants in the top 10, while two new teams fell into the bottom 5.
Biggest riser: Las Vegas Raiders +5
Biggest fallers: Baltimore Ravens and Indianapolis Colts -5
This week, along with myself, staff voters were: Caleb James, Ron Kopp Jr., Rocky Magana, and Jared Sapp.
1. Buffalo Bills (1st)
They could basically go on cruise control due to the Ravens’ quarterback injuries.
2. Chicago Bears (5th)
A legit Super Bowl contender. They get more impressive by the week. Trading for defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons solidifies one of the few holes on the roster.
3. San Francisco 49ers (3rd)
I fully expect this team to be angry and return to form after their bye week following a head-scratching loss to the Falcons.
4. Minnesota Vikings (2nd)
Their defense plays lights out. Their offense barely plays.
5. Jacksonville Jaguars (7th)
They could potentially have this division wrapped up by Thanksgiving. A great team absolutely no one talks about.
6. Seattle Seahawks (4th)
The Bears dropping 34 points on this defense is not what I wanted to see a week after the Chiefs couldn’t even get into the red zone.
7. Denver Broncos (11th)
They may be in the top 10 of our rankings, but I don’t have a positive thing to say about this franchise at the moment.
8. Cincinnati Bengals (8th)
Joe Burrow may be the current MVP frontrunner.
9. Kansas City Chiefs (6th)
The worst vibes of any 5-2 team I can think of.
10. Detroit Lions (12th)
A huge, gritty win for the Lions and their gritty head coach.
11. New England Patriots (9th)
They almost blew it, but divisional games are always tough. A win is a win.
12. Pittsburgh Steelers (10th)
This week’s matchup against the Bengals will tell me if the Steelers are for real or not.
13. Green Bay Packers (14th)
If Micah Parsons comes back healthy, the NFC North race is the most interesting in football.
14. Los Angeles Rams (16th)
Would Aaron Donald have come out of retirement had he known this team would only be .500 after Halloween?
15. New York Giants (17th)
The surprising leaders of the NFC Least.
16. Cleveland Browns (15th)
Not winning a single game in Pittsburgh since 2003 is objectively crazy.
17. Las Vegas Raiders (22nd)
In my opinion, the Raiders are making the smart long-term play by keeping Fernando Mendoza on the bench and riding it out with Kirk Cousins.
18. Baltimore Ravens (13th)
Some difficult conversations regarding Lamar Jackson’s long-term future in Baltimore will be happening soon.
19. Carolina Panthers (19th)
The Chiefs may have been able to muster a sack against this offensive line.
20. Houston Texans (21st)
We’ll see if they can dig themselves out of the hole they’ve created following their bye week.
21. Atlanta Falcons (18th)
I repeat—your offense fields Drake London, Bijan Robinson, and Kyle Pitts—yet you look this anemic?
22. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (20th)
I legitimately thought I was being trolled when a friend texted me the Bucs won without completing a pass. How is that possible?
23. Dallas Cowboys (23rd)
This team invents hilarious ways to lose football games every week.
24. Washington Commanders (27th)
Good job, Jayden Daniels! You won a football game!
25. New Orleans Saints (25th)
The first fall guy: the Saints fired their run game coordinator this week.
26. Arizona Cardinals (29th)
Spoiler alert!
27. New York Jets (28th)
This week should one hundred percent be a “get right” game for the Chiefs. But I’m worried that won’t be the case.
28. Philadelphia Eagles (24th)
When I looked ahead at the NFL schedule, I unfortunately saw a lot of Eagles’ games in primetime.
29. Tennessee Titans (31st)
They had the Bengals right where I wanted them. Until they let them off the hook.
30. Miami Dolphins (30th)
Ollie Gordon has been a good waiver wire addition to a couple of my fantasy teams. But he hurt his real team on Sunday.
31. Indianapolis Colts (26th)
I remember the old “Suck for Luck” campaign. But (currently) without a first-round pick in 2027, they’re tanking without any real direction.
32. Los Angeles Chargers (32nd)
It’s getting real bleak in Southern California.
