Kylian Mbappe missed a second consecutive training session at Valdebebas due to discomfort in his left knee, the same knee in which he suffered a sprain in December. He is now a doubt for Saturday’s match
against Real Sociedad at the Santiago Bernabeu. Arbeloa may opt to rest him with Benfica coming up midweek.
According to Cadena Ser, Mbappe is using the six-day gap between matches to recover full confidence in the knee. His availability will depend on whether he can rejoin the group in Friday’s final session.
Mbappe has scored 23 goals in 22 league matches and 38 goals in 31 appearances across all competitions this season — accounting for nearly ~50% of the team’s total goals.
Raul Asencio also missed training due to illness but is expected to recover in time for Saturday barring complications.
Jude Bellingham, Rodrygo Goes, and Eder Militao all remain sidelined. Franco Mastantuono trained again, confirming recovery from a thigh knock sustained against Valencia.
