Barcelona trained for the final time before Sunday’s La Liga clash with Valencia at Mestalla but there was no sign of Lamine Yamal during the session.
The teenager was conspicuous by his absence on the training pitch and stayed in the gym, according to multiple outlets. No reason has yet been given as to why the teenager was not with his team-mates.
Hansi Flick is set to hold his usual pre-match press conference after the session and will hopefully offer an update on Yamal ahead of the game.
Apart from
Yamal, the German coach has few new injury concerns before the match. Gavi has returned to training after suffering a knee injury, while new signing Gabriel Jesus is also expected to be available.
Barcelona are due to travel to Valencia later today, with Flick’s side aiming to maintain their perfect start to the season.
The game also offers Barca the chance to gain an early advantage over rivals Real Madrid in the title race after Jose Mourinho’s side were beaten 1-0 at Betis on Friday night.
