The Wisconsin Badgers are less than two weeks away from the season opener, where they’ll take on Campbell on November 3rd at the Kohl Center.
Before that, the Badgers held their annual Red-White scrimmage on Sunday, and they’re heading up to Milwaukee this week for an exhibition
match against the Oklahoma Sooners at Fiserv Forum.
It’s a brand-new year for the Badgers, who brought in nine new players this offseason. The team added five players from the transfer portal, including projected starters Nick Boyd, Andrew Rohde, and Austin Rapp, and four freshmen to form another deep team.
They also return stars John Blackwell and Nolan Winter, who were starters a season ago and project to take another step forward as juniors.
In the Red-White scrimmage, Boyd and Rapp both stood out, leading their respective teams in points. But, the Badgers have several players on the team who can score the ball. All five projected starters have the ability to shoot the three, while players off the bench can also contribute as scorers.
That leads us to our Reacts question of the week: Who will be Wisconsin’s leading scorer?
Will it be Blackwell, who averaged 15.2 points per game last season and is now in a lead role? Will it be Boyd, whose speed and playmaking ability figure to fit into a high-usage role? Or could it be another starter that breaks out on the scene?
