The calendar has officially flipped to include basketball season in Lexington.
Mark Pope and the Kentucky Wildcats took the floor Tuesday for their first official fall practice of the 2026-27 season, beginning the final stretch of preparation before games get underway next month.
One of the biggest developments came from Milan Momcilovic. The Iowa State transfer has been working his way back from a jammed
finger on his shooting hand, but he was on the floor Tuesday getting shots up while still wearing a splint. Kentucky even shared video of its star shooter knocking down jumpers, an encouraging sign after the recent injury concern.
Now the real countdown begins.
Kentucky is just 24 days away from its first exhibition matchup against Little Rock on October 16 at Rupp Arena. The Cats will then host Texas Tech and UCF before opening the regular season against Manhattan on November 3.
