The never-ending roster process of the NFL is why we are cautious about not calling the initial 53-man roster “the final 53-man roster,” as it used to be referred to. Cleveland Browns GM Andrew Berry is always looking to improve the roster, from the top to the bottom, and is unafraid to make moves, even some that are unpopular.
On Monday, the Browns made eight roster moves, including placing RB Dylan Sampson on injured reserve. A majority of those moves involved the practice squad, a unit that Berry
uses to evaluate players as much as reinforce the 53-man roster.
According to a report, Cleveland is now bringing in WR Jimmy Horn Jr., former college teammate of QB Shedeur Sanders:
With Horn passing through waivers, it is likely that he will be signing to the Browns practice squad.
Horn spent his final two college seasons with Sanders at the University of Colorado, where he caught 95 passes for just over 1,000 yards with seven touchdowns. Horn actually outproduced Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter in 2023, before Hunter’s trophy-winning season in 2024.
Last year, with the Carolina Panthers, Horn played in 13 games, contributing 11 receptions for 108 yards. Horn also returned seven kicks for Carolina, Cleveland’s Week 3 opponent.
