It’s game time in Iowa City! After a thrilling comeback win a week ago against Penn State, the Hawkeyes are back inside the friendly confines of Kinnick Stadium for a second straight week.
Up next is a showdown with the Minnesota Golden Gophers in the battle for Floyd of Rosedale. The Hawkeyes emerged victorious in Minneapolis a season ago, but now look to avenge the loss in Iowa City two seasons ago. That loss, of course, came with controversy and gave the Gophers their first win in Kinnick since
1999.
Minnesota enters the day at 5-2, same as the Hawkeyes. The Gophers demolished Nebraska 24-6 a week ago and are focused on winning a second straight rivalry matchup.
Will the Hawkeyes be able to keep RB Darius Taylor at bay and pin their ears back against RS freshman QB Drake Lindsey? Or will the Gophers be able to establish the running game and create time and rhythm for their passing game to get going?
And on the other side of things, can Iowa finally get something of their own going in the passing game after throwing for fewer than 200 yards in every game this season and just a combined 175 yards over their last two games?
We’ll have answers to those questions and so many more in just a bit as the Hawkeyes play host to the Gophers in the battle for Floyd of Rosedale.
