Liverpool wants Olise as NextGen Salah (ESPN)
If you have been engaged in what is going on in social media within the Bayern Munich fanbase, you would know there is a ton of nonsense, bickering, and falsehoods being bandied about at-will.
Some of that involves rumors surrounding Michael Olise and an alleged release clause, but we do not need to go into the weeds with all of that nonsense. What is important, is that Olise’s continued success has made him a prime target for clubs all over Europe — including Liverpool.
The Reds could be lining up
a pursuit of the Frenchman to help compensate for the day when Mo Salah leaves the club:
Liverpool are interested in Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise, reports The Daily Mail. The 23-year-old is reported to have been lined up as a potential future replacement for Mohamed Salah, who will turn 34 next year, with Olise one of the top names on the Reds’ shortlist, though a deal could cost them around €100 million. Olise was one of the brightest wingers in Europe last season after directly contributing to 34 goals in 48 matches across the Bundesliga and Champions League, and he also added his third goal of the new campaign in the 3-2 league win over Augsburg on Saturday.
The reality is that clubs will be coming for Olise as soon as next summer and if Bayern Munich was to entertain a sale, it would surely net the Bavarians nine figures or more. Right now, there is no reason to think about that prospect, though, as Olise has flourished in Germany and is a burgeoning superstar.
For squad planning purposes, though, it is a bit concerning when Olise is likely to be offered life-changing money…soon. With Harry Kane’s future uncertain, Jamal Musiala attempting to battle back from a major injury, and Luis Díaz being 28-years-old, Bayern Munich might need to think about what the attack will look like in two years if a wild card like Olise leaving actually happens.
Hopefully, Olise is enjoying his time with Bayern Munich so much that he shuns any proposed move.
Rummenigge not looking for role in world football (Welt am Sonntag via @iMiaSanMia)
Karl-Heinz Rummenigge bides his time on Bayern Munich’s supervisory board and you can rest assured, he has no interest in taking on any role with UEFA or FIFA moving forward.
“No. This chapter of my life is over for me. It was great, and I’m very grateful, especially to FC Bayern. But now it’s the younger generation’s turn,” Rummenigge said.

LFC to challenge Bayern on Guéhi (Fabrizio Romano via @iMiaSanMia)
Bayern Munich and Liverpool could be heading for another transfer showdown — this time over Crystal Palace center-back Marc Guéhi:
Liverpool remain interested in Marc Guéhi for summer 2026 but there’s no 100% guarantee that he will join them. Several clubs around Europe are considering a move for Guéhi as he’s seen as a big opportunity on a free transfer.

Bavarian Podcast Works — Postgame Show: Slovakia 2-0 Germany (Bavarian Football Works)
The German national team hit the road to face Slovakia, looking to get off on the right foot for this round of World Cup qualifier action.
That did not happen.
Julian Nagelsmann — as he is prone to do — did some experimenting with his lineup and it did not work, as the team dropped a 2-0 decision. The players were bad, the coaching was not great, and it was not a banner effort overall.
There is plenty to discuss from this match, so let’s get to it. This is what we have on tap for this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Postgame Show:
- A look at the starting XI.
- A rundown of the scoring and substitutions.
- Some final thoughts and takeaways on the match.
Saudis want Maguire (ESPN)
Manchester United center-back Harry Maguire could be getting interest from Saudi Arabia:
Clubs in the Saudi Pro League are interested in Manchester United defender Harry Maguire, according to The Sun. Two teams are reported to have asked the 32-year-old’s representatives about a potential switch to Saudi Arabia, where the transfer window closes on Sept. 23. While Maguire wants to stay at Old Trafford, it is believed that he would be open to considering a move at the end of the season. His deal will enter the final six months in January, when clubs from outside of the Premier League will be able to make an official approach to him on a pre-contract agreement.
Heynckes amazed by Müller (Abendzeitung via @iMiaSanMia)
Even after all these years, Jupp Heynckes is still amazed by Thomas Müller.
“What Thomas has achieved is absolutely insane. His special gift is his instinct for goal, an attitude that few are born with. Added to that is his exceptional fundamentals and endurance. He is incredibly resilient and hardly injured. He’s an exceptional footballer and also very committed to the team. A complete team player and a leader,” Heynckes said. “He can lead and knows what is important in a team: He knows when he has played well and when he hasn’t played so well. When things get tough, when a leader is needed, I’ve never once seen Thomas expressing criticism that is too general or too personal; instead, his tone is always authoritative. In all the years I have never seen him in a bad mood or ill-tempered; he’s always relaxed and friendly. Positive, optimistic, original, funny, empathetic, authentic.”
