Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford hit the scale earlier this morning for the official weigh ins, held in advance of their super middleweight title fight on Sat. night (Sept. 13, 2025) at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. Both fighters weighed in at 167.5 pounds and will return for the ceremonial festivities later tonight in “Sin City.”
Canelo Alvarez:
Terence Crawford:
“I got to set the tone,” Crawford told ESPN. “You have to set the tone with Canelo — to let the judges know you’re putting rounds in the bank. That’s how I look at it: one round at a time. Don’t go in and try to get a knockout in the first round. Just put rounds in the bank. And make sure you’re winning those rounds decisively.”
Elsewhere on the Netflix-streamed main card, Callum Walsh weighed in at 153.5 pounds for his super welterweight showdown opposite 153 pounds for Fernando Vargas Jr., which serves as the “Canelo vs. Crawford” co-main event.
Callum Walsh:
Fernando Vargas Jr.:
“September 13th takes me from somebody’s son into my own man, and I feel that I’ll get respected from the fight fans because they know Callum’s a real guy,” Vargas told UFC.com. “This fight is really going to give the fight fans a taste of what I know that I have. So it couldn’t have been a bigger opportunity for me. It’s such a privilege to fight on a Canelo card, let alone being the co-main. So I’m training so hard to show to the world what I’m capable of, and it’s going to put me in the top 10 in the world.”
