The Washington Mystics have just put together perhaps the most impressive stretch of their season. They just beat the Dallas Wings, and putting aside an expected
win against the tanking Connecticut Sun, they shocked the Las Vegas Aces 100-99 and beat the strong Golden State Valkyries.
That makes it four in a row, a feat they haven’t accomplished in more than 5 years.
Now, they face the Dallas Wings again, and again at home. We hope the Dallas team had a fun five full days in D.C. (WNBA seems to schedule these double header games with larger and larger intervals now.)
What was quite remarkable in the previous win over the Wings, is that the Mystics had an awful shooting night (2-for-17 from deep, and only 37 percent from the field), but they won thanks to hard work: 42 boards to Dallas’ 32, and 31 free throw attempts compared to Dallas’ 13.
