Buckeyes offer 2027 tight-end prospect
Ohio State’s tight end room has rarely been deeper, and Keenan Bailey’s group continues to show its value both on the field and on the recruiting trail. That momentum carried into Thursday when the Buckeyes extended an offer to New Jersey native Tommy Douglas, one of the top tight end prospects in the 2027 class.
Douglas, a 6-foot-4, 225-pound athlete from the Hun School, is rated as the No. 347 overall player and the No. 20 tight end in the 247Sports Composite rankings. With a college-ready frame,
he’s seen his recruitment heat up quickly. His list of offers already includes Alabama, Arkansas, Boston College, North Carolina, and USC.
Ohio State has recruited the Hun School before, though its last pursuit in 2026 fell short. The Buckeyes hope Douglas’ path will play out differently, with Bailey’s success and the program’s on-field production serving as selling points. Getting Douglas on campus for a visit will be the next key step.
Ohio State makes the cut for Florida offensive line target
The Buckeyes also got good news in the trenches. Four-star offensive lineman Sean Tatum released his top five schools on Thursday, and Ohio State remains firmly in the mix.
Tatum, a 6-foot-4, 310-pound interior lineman from John Carroll (Florida), is ranked No. 120 nationally and the No. 4 interior offensive lineman in the 2027 class per the Composite. With more than 20 offers already, Tatum trimmed his list to Ohio State, Florida, Florida State, Miami, and Tennessee.
Staying home would be the easier option for the Sunshine State standout, but Ohio State will fight to stay in contention for one of the country’s premier interior line prospects.
Quick Hits:
Ohio State made another “top schools list” on Thursday, this time from 2027 linebacker target Kaden Henderson. He narrowed down his over 40 offers to a top 12, keeping some of the best programs in the country in the mix.
In addition to the Buckeyes, Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Miami, Notre Dame, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and USC also made the cut. The No. 33 player nationally and second best at his spot per the 247Sports Composite grades, the Buckeyes will continue working to add to the future of what is quickly becoming one of the best position rooms in the country.
