I was in the Northwest Stadium tunnels when Jayden Daniels sent a high volley skyward towards the end zone, furiously typing what I assumed would be a Bears victory recap for the Chicago media outlet I worked for. There was a postgame show to join right after the clocks ran out, offering no time to walk towards the field and watch the final play.
Chicago, it sure seemed, had this one wrapped up. My ears heard otherwise. Absolute silence filled the air for 12.7 seconds while Daniels scrambled through
the backfield, looking for a time to launch. It was replaced by a deafening roar as gravity brought Daniels’ pass down to earth, right into Noah Brown’s arms.
I couldn’t see what had happened live, but I could feel it. The passion. The energy. The commitment to the Commanders. All that was expressed in sound.
I knew then that this place could be special. The connection between this team and its fan base is unique. When fan faith is rewarded with smart decisions and quality play, the bond strengthens and fortifies the entire region.
That’s why I jumped at the opportunity to serve this fan base as Hogs Haven team site producer. That’s how I view my role here, as one of service. I want to provide the information you need in the style that you want, whether you read long stories or prefer your news to come as a video or in 280 characters.
