The Arizona Cardinals should be leading. Or maybe trailing. Whatever it should be, the reality is they are tied with the Atlanta Falcons after the first half and the game is unfolding like Jess and I expected.
This had all the earmarks of a shootout, the question would be could the Cardinals offense keep pace with the Atlanta Falcons offense?
Well, through two quarters it is 16-16, so the answer is yes.

And it is the Cardinals run game that is what is making things look good offensively.
For a team that has abandoned the run game the last six games, rushing the ball 16 times in the first half for almost six yards per carry, while they have thrown the ball 16 times for only 128 yards shows what has been missing.
It hasn’t been the ability to run, but the willingness to run that ball.
Maybe having any quarterback drop back 50-plus times a game isn’t a winning formula.
Let’s see how the second half goes. The Cardinals desperately need a win, I know it is hip to want to tank for draft positioning, but they need to show they can win football games, especially with it seeming like the staff will be back in 2026.
Let’s go Cardinals.
