Barca could leverage Flick relationship to land Goretzka (Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg via @iMiaSanMia)
Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka and FC Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick have an extensive relationship and that could play a role this summer when the 30-year-old becomes a free agent:
Barcelona
have Leon Goretzka on their list should he become a free agent in the summer. Though no final decision has been made yet, they’re keeping an eye on his situation. Goretzka and Hansi Flick have an excellent relationship. Napoli are also interested.
It is hard to envision exactly where Goretzka fit into the midfield for the Catalans, but not costing FC Barcelona a transfer fee could be very appealing.
With it being extremely clear that there is no future for Goretzka in Bavaria, the Germany international could do a lot worse than joining the LaLiga powerhouse.
Milan dreams of Kim (Sempre Milan)
Man…there is a lot of dreaming going on this week, eh?
In this case, AC Milan desperately wants Bayern Munich center-back Kim Min-jae:
AC Milan are not giving up on their ‘dream’ of signing Kim Min-jae, but it will be a very tough operation to pull off.
As La Gazzetta dello Sport report, without a sale Milan basically have zero budget to put towards a transfer fee for a centre-back or a player in any other position. So, they must sign someone for a very low fee, or via a loan formula.
The goal is to find a world-class centre-back who can leave his current club on loan, preferably with a background in Serie A. The perfect fit is Kim Min-jae, who won the title in Italy with Napoli and then immediately moved to Germany, to Bayern Munich.
He would be an ideal addition, but for now the German giants aren’t so open to his departure. The main issue is salary: Kim earns a ridiculous amount of €9m net per year. Even on loan, Bayern would need a helping hand to cover his wages.

Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich completed more “open play passes” than any other midfielder in 2025:
Nkunku likely to stay with Milan (Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg)
Despite rumors to the contrary, Christopher Nkunku seems set to stay with AC Milan:
🚨🟡🔵 Yes, Fenerbahce are pushing to sign Christopher #Nkunku and he is their dream signing for January.
However, Nkunku’s current plan is still to remain at AC Milan, which makes a move unlikely at this stage. There is currently also no agreement between Fenerbahce and Nkunku/his agents.
Real chasing Wharton? (ESPN)
Real Madrid could be looking at Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton to provide depth to its midfield group:
Real Madrid have joined the race for Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton, according to AS. The Spanish outlet reports that Madrid have been offered the player, but the transfer fee would need to be worth more than €70 million to land the 21-year-old. Madrid are interested and see the England international as the perfect alternative to Aurélien Tchouaméni in midfield, or to enable Arda Güler to play further forward. However, they aren’t the only ones: Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea are all keen on the Palace midfielder.
Bayern Alumni: Cancelo to Barca (Fabrizio Romano)
Former Bayern Munich outside-back João Cancelo is headed to FC Barcelona:
ICYMI: United sacked Amorim (Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg)
If you did not see it, Manchester United sacked head coach Ruben Amorim:
🚨❌ BREAKING | Manchester United have sacked Ruben #Amorim!
He met with Jason Wilcox and Omar Berrada this morning who told him he was being relieved of his duties, as per @SkySports and after @TheAthletic
.Darren Fletcher is said to be taking charge on an interim basis. #MUFC@SkySportDE
GiveMeSport’s Ben Jacobs also chimed in with additional details as well:
More on Ruben Amorim’s sacking. #MUFC believe there haven’t been enough signs of evolution or progress.
Denials of power struggles or ultimatums, but understand there was a breakdown between Amorim and Jason Wilcox.
Manchester United back the squad to achieve their objectives this season, including getting European football.
Manchester United insiders insist Amorim was aligned in adding three forwards over a midfielder last summer, especially knowing they are versatile.
And whoever replaces Amorim will still be a head coach not a manager. No coach will ever sit above the leadership team, or be given a recruitment veto like Erik ten Hag, as Manchester United’s model is collaborative.🔴
