There is less than a month until football season kicks off, with hot, sunny days in St. Joseph, Missouri, as we all watch (or read about) the Kansas City Chiefs practice through the peak of a Midwest summer.
Something different about this year’s camp at Missouri Western State University compared to the previous three years will be the audible volume of the coaching staff.
Offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy will be back leading the coaches for the team’s biggest stars this summer. His absence may be an
underrated factor in that unit seemingly slipping in discipline regarding penalties and turnovers during stretches over the last three seasons.
The grass practice fields in St. Joe may be where Chiefs fans see the most of Bieniemy’s impact on the 2026 season, but it will just be the start of him showcasing why he was a vital part of the team’s success from 2013 to 2022, whether a running backs coach or the offensive coordinator.
I believe the decision to re-hire Bieniemy was the best move the Chiefs’ front office made this offseason.
What was the single-best decision the Chiefs made this offseason? Was it another coaching hire or the decision to acquire a particular player? Let us know in the comments.
