Anyone envious of the Los Angeles Lakers getting the best of everything, all the time in the NBA will want to take note of the news surrounding the team this week. Yesterday Luka Doncic was diagnosed with a hamstring strain that will keep him out for the rest of the regular season and perhaps the playoffs. Today Shams Charania of ESPN is reporting that co-star Austin Reaves has an oblique muscle strain and will also miss the rest of the season. Both guards are expected to be sidelined as the NBA Playoffs
start, per Charania.
At 50-27, the Lakers currently sit third in the Western Conference. They are one game ahead of the fourth-place Denver Nuggets, two games ahead of the fifth-place Houston Rockets. The Lakers have five games remaining in their regular-season schedule.
Doncic averages 33.5 points, 8.3 assists, and 7.7 rebounds in 35.8 minutes per game for the Lakers this year. Reaves, their second-leading scorer, averages 23.3 points, 5.5 assists, and 4.7 rebounds in 34.5 minutes per game.
