The AFC North has undergone significant change this offseason, including the firing of three coaches. The new look for this division is really starting to take shape with the Pittsburgh Steelers hiring
Mike McCarthy, the Baltimore Ravens hiring Jesse Minter , and the Cleveland Browns hiring Todd Monken as their next head coach. With so much change happening in these organizations, how do the Browns stack up against these other teams?

There remains significant uncertainty in Cleveland and Pittsburgh over who will be under center in 2026. McCarthy’s history with Aaron Rodgers could pave the way for Rodgers to return to the Steelers for another season. The Browns could go a variety of directions at quarterback, whether that is Shedeur Sanders, a bridge veteran quarterback, or a rookie.
Given this uncertainty, Cleveland still has an uphill battle in the division. Even though the Ravens have a change at head coach, they still have Lamar Jackson under center, which will always keep them competitive. For the Bengals, if Joe Burrow can stay healthy, the Cincinnati offense will keep that team in the conversation for the division. The Steelers no longer have Mike Tomlin, who never posted a sub-.500 season during his time in Pittsburgh. This shakeup at head coach could certainly create some instability in the organization in 2026, so the Browns have a real opportunity to surpass the Steelers in the division.
