Better to be safe than sorry …
Following UFC 332 last night (Sat., Oct. 3, 2026) inside Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, promotion officials confirmed to MMAmania.com that three fighters were transported to a local hospital for precautionary evaluations after sustaining damage in their respective bouts.
Those fighters were Court McGee, Andrey Pulyaev and Bruce Whitehead.
McGee (22-15) was transported for precautionary CT scans of his head and face following his knockout loss to Eric Nolan, which
opened the UFC 332 card (watch highlights).
“The Crusher” announced his retirement after the fight, closing the book on a UFC career that spanned 25 Octagon appearances. McGee exits the promotion on a two-fight losing streak after dropping five of his final six bouts.
Thanks for the memories, Court!
Pulyaev (10-6) was transported for precautionary CT scans of his head and face following his knockout loss to Damian Pinas (watch highlights).
UFC CEO Dana White later revealed during the UFC 332 post-fight press conference that Pulyaev suffered a broken jaw.
The 29-year-old Russian has now lost three consecutive fights and has been brutally finished in his last two appearances. Whether Pulyaev receives another opportunity could depend on the status of his contract, but his UFC future is not looking particularly bright.
Finally, UFC newcomer Whitehead (8-3) was transported for a precautionary testicular ultrasound following his first-round knockout loss to Jacobe Smith (watch highlights).
Whitehead absorbed a brutal low blow just seconds into the fight. He recovered enough to continue, but Smith eventually knocked him out later in the opening round.
The defeat snapped Whitehead’s two-fight winning streak and spoiled his short-notice Octagon debut.
At the time of publication, the results of McGee’s scans and Whitehead’s ultrasound had not been publicly disclosed.
It is normal for UFC to transport fighters to the hospital for precautionary reasons, especially if the fighters are involved in three-round battles that are full of damage or after suffering nasty knockouts.
