The Los Angeles Chargers face a 0-2 hole to start the season, and things aren’t going to get easier as they travel to Highmark Stadium to take on the Buffalo Bills in Week 3.
The Bills have been arguably the best team in the league so far this season, as they lead the league in points per game and are second in total yards behind the Kansas City Chiefs. While the Chargers have the odds stacked against them, head coach Jim Harbaugh is challenging his players to rise to the occasion even with the outlook
as bleak as it is.
“When the going gets tough, the tough gets going. That’s the general message,” Harbaugh said via the team’s website. “I count on our guys. Yeah, we put a lot on them, we put a lot on ourselves, but No. 1 is the confidence you have in yourself.
“That’s each individual teammate, and the confidence you have in your teammates.”
The Chargers are beginning practice today to prepare for the Bills, and Harbaugh hopes that his team comes into the facility with a new, focused mindset as they aim to win their first game of the season.
“It’s a huge part of that formula, correcting and improving anything you can improve, with a real sense of urgency,” Harbaugh said. “Call it improvement, plus urgent, plus belief in yourself, your teammates, equals sustainable growth.”
