According to a report from Abendzeitung journalist Maximilian Koch (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich center-back Dayot Upamecano wants a pay raise that will elevate him in the stratosphere that sits between left-back Alphonso Davies (€15 million) and central midfielder Joshua Kimmich (€20 million).
Per Capology, Upamecano currently earns €10 million per season:
Dayot Upamecano wants a pay rise in order to extend his contract at FC Bayern, especially after Musiala, Davies and Kimmich were
given top contracts this year. As a regular starter and part of the spine of the team, Upamecano sees himself somewhere in the category between Davies (€15m/year) and Kimmich (€20m). Upamecano is also said to be pushing to have a release clause included in the new deal. Top clubs, such as Real Madrid, are lurking in the background and watching the situation.
There are already rumors that Upamecano’s representatives are speaking with clubs like Liverpool and Real Madrid among others. If Bayern Munich balks at a big raise, it could push Upamecano to pursue other opportunities.
When Bayern Munich traveled to Sinsheim on a short week after taking down Chelsea FC in the Champions League, it was never going to be easy.
Hoffenheim is well-coached, motivated, and playing with a real fire. For a weary Bayern Munich side, that meant trouble, but Vincent Kompany heavily rotated his men and while it was not always dominant or even pretty, the Bavarians showed their grit once again in a 4-1 win.
