Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Cardinals fans and fans across the country.
We are onto the Dallas Cowboys this evening, with an eye towards joint practices next week with the Green Bay Packers, before the Arizona Cardinals close the preseason with a matchup with the Packers.
One player we will not see, unless something changes for joint practices next week is rookie running back Jeremiyah Love.
So I asked the
question: how did you feel about the Jeremiyah Love injury?
The majority answered, it was just an unfortunate play.
While the majority feels that way, I have maintained my stance, the usage in a half of a preseason game made no sense.
Getting him “game ready” wouldn’t look like 14 first half touches, would it? And if it is, how long will a rookie running back hold up if he is pacing for 450+ touches in a season?
I never disagreed with him playing, he needed it, but I think 3-4 touches in game one, 6-8 touches in game two and then bubble wrap would have made a little more sense… at least to me.
No game one and then 14 touches in game two just didn’t make sense, but again, that is just me.
Interesting enough, Love’s rushing total has plummeted for the season, so if you believe he will be back, healthy and ready to rock in week one, hammer the over on the 725.5 yards rushing according to our friends at FanDuel Sportsbook.
