Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson has entered concussion protocol after the loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. There is no official announcement yet, but it is likely that Shedeur Sanders will be starting in his place. This will be his first opportunity to start in a game this season, taking on the New Orleans Saints. This game is a massive opportunity for the team to get back on track after a tough loss, given the Saints’ struggles this season and their 2-5 record.
Sanders does bring some valuable
starting experience from last season, so it won’t be his first time starting in a Cleveland Browns uniform. This should give him more confidence going into the game. During his media availability, Sanders seemed excited and ready for the opportunity.
It is certainly possible for the Browns to secure this win with Sanders under center. The offensive line will need to step up to protect him after a tough performance against the Steelers. They will need to help him get comfortable early on by finding success in the run game and giving him short, quick passes to grow his confidence quickly. Sanders will need to get the ball in the hands of guys like KC Concepcion and Harold Fannin Jr., who have had a great deal of success in getting yards after the catch this season. This will help them push the ball down the field.
Let me know what you think in the comments after voting in the poll above – Can Shedeur Sanders lead the Browns to a win?
