There was finally a negative outcome for Kansas City Chiefs running back Kenneth Walker from his explosive performance in Week 1. Amid 26 touches, 191 yards and two touchdowns, Walker earned a letter from the league, and didn’t sound regretful about it.

Kenneth Walker reveals he was punished by NFL after Chiefs-Broncos matchup | Yahoo! Sports
Walker said the league hit him with an $8,357 fine for throwing the football into the stands following his second touchdown in Kansas City’s 31-10 victory over Denver. The fine is listed under the NFL’s sportsmanship rules for throwing a football into the stands.
Walker shared the news on TikTok, with the post later circulated on X by Keaton Jones. Despite the financial punishment, the Chiefs running back made it clear he had no regrets about giving the football to a fan.
“It cost me an 8K fine… but this man’s memory is priceless,” Walker wrote.

“Kenneth Walker III had a memorable debut with the Chiefs. On Monday Night Football, Walker went berserk for 173 rushing yards and 18 yards, plus two touchdowns. Walker had 23 carries and three receptions on six targets from Patrick Mahomes. Walker’s lines are rushing props are set between 79.5 and 83.5 for now, but since this game is on Sunday night, we can fully expect this to climb. I might wait for this to reach closer to 90 yards to play the Under and the same goes with the carries if it closes near 19.5 or 20.5.”
Chiefs Safety Has ‘No Timeline’ For Return, per Andy Reid | Heavy Sports
However, the team has also been shy defensive back Chemarri Conner, who has been missing with a knee injury that occurred during preseason.
And speaking today, Andy Reid shared what could be termed as unfortunate news that there is no outlined timetable for Conner’s return due to the swelling in his knee, per Charles Goldman.
“No timeline for Chamarri Conner, per Coach Reid. Says it’s a matter of keeping the swelling out of his knee.” Goldman reported on Friday.
Three Key Trends for Chiefs to Maintain Dominance of New-Look Defense | Sports Illustrated
Sometimes, the best run defense can be getting out to a lead on offense and forcing the opposition to become one-dimensional. There was certainly an element of that in Week 1, when the hosts kept the ball on the ground 38 times compared to the visitors’ 15. Still, Kansas City did a nice job bottling up starting Broncos halfback J.K. Dobbins to the tune of 36 yards.
After ranking 13th in EPA per rush given up in 2025 (-0.06, per SumerSports), that slotting was fourth after a week of 2026 play thanks to an EPA/rush allowance of -0.19. The Chiefs were fourth on early downs, too, highlighting just how difficult it was for Denver to get anything going. According to NFL Pro, Spagnuolo’s crew forced the Broncos to muster -0.32 rushing yards over expectation (10th).

Rams’ Aaron Donald plans to make season debut on ‘Monday Night Football’ vs. Giants | The Athletic
The three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year would make his return at SoFi Stadium, where he previously played his home games and helped lead the Rams to a Super Bowl win over the Cincinnati Bengals in February 2022.
“That’s the plan,” Donald said when asked if he’ll play against the Giants. “That’s all of our plan. We’ll have a conversation to figure it out, but I’m feeling really good. I feel a lot better now that I have more practices under my belt as opposed to one.”
Texans rule WR Nico Collins out vs. Bengals with hamstring injury | ESPN
Collins was healthy to start Wednesday’s practice but tweaked a hamstring later in the session. The injury doesn’t appear to be long term. Collins met with team doctors after Wednesday’s practice and the injury isn’t believed to be “serious,” a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The Texans’ official injury report listed Collins as limited in Wednesday’s practice due to the injury. He was listed as a nonparticipant in Thursday’s and Friday’s practice.
Brock Bowers returns to Raiders practice for first time since knee surgery, but is ‘doubtful’ for Sunday | Yahoo! Sports
Bowers underwent surgery to trim his meniscus last week, which sidelined him for the Raiders’ Week 1 win over the Miami Dolphins. Kubiak said earlier this week that Bowers was considered “day-to-day” after the surgery. The tight end did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday.
On Friday, videos from multiple reporters showed Bowers (No. 89) walking onto the field with pads and his helmet in his hand. He was wearing a sleeve on his left leg.

Chiefs Market Movers: Who’s trending ahead of Week 2
Bulls:
Fullbacks Ben VanSumeren and Khyiris Tonga: A late addition to the roster, Ben VanSumeren was an instant contributor on special teams in Week 1. He saw only three offensive snaps, but the team quickly signed him to a contract to keep him on the 53-man roster. Khyiris Tonga was key to four first downs, including the 60-yard touchdown run on 4th down. Given the new-look Chiefs offense’s success running the ball behind both fullbacks, they should keep Tonga and VanSumeren in creative roles. Especially against a Colts defense that helped make Derrick Henry the NFL’s third-leading rusher (behind Walker and Jahmyr Gibbs).
