It feels like so much of Logan Paul’s presence on social media these days revolves around a hobby I never got into, even as a child of the 1990s when it was booming back in the Game Boy days: Pokémon. It was a legitimate craze back then, dipped in popularity, and then exploded once more when Pokémon cards shot up in value such that folks legitimately started achieving real wealth off them. Paul himself sold a card for a record breaking $16.5 million.
So it makes sense he puts so much focus on it when
he’s uploading to YouTube. But that’s not what we are interested in here. No, we are here for the pro wrestling he throws into his vlogs, and his latest features a legitimately fascinating look at what it’s like for a wrestler to sneak under the ring and hang out there until it’s time to get involved in a match.
The following video is cued up to the part in question (but you’re certainly welcome to start from the beginning for the Pokémon stuff):
Paul went under the ring to get ready to interfere in fellow Vision member Bronson Reed’s match against Oba Femi at Money in the Bank. Seeing the boards like that and recognizing that’s what these guys are landing on really puts into perspective what they’re actually doing when they take these bumps every week.
What makes this great, to me, is that he goes to all this trouble, has to hang out there for all that time, and when he does finally get to rush the ring, he gets caught instantly and kicked out before ever actually getting to do anything.
Incredible stuff.
