According to Mike Klis of 9News, the Denver Broncos have waived guard Calvin Throckmorton. The undrafted 2020 signee joined Denver in 2024 after starts with New Orleans and Carolina.
Calvin Throckmorton went undrafted in 2020 out of Oregon, starting 48 games with All-Pac-12 honors. His NFL career included New Orleans (2021-2022), Carolina (2023), Tennessee (2023), and
Denver (2024), appearing in 48 games (27 starts) at guard and tackle. In 2024 with Denver, he played two games without starts. At 6’5″ and 309 pounds, his versatility across the line provided depth.
He was a guy that our own Ross Allen was very impressed with during the preseason and wrote up an in-depth film review noting that he had made his case for the 53-man roster against the Arizona Cardinals. Judging by Klis’s tweet here, he was very close to making it on that final cut down. Hopefully, we see him back on the practice squad for this season. He’d likely be the first to be called up if an injury goes down.
