The Cleveland Browns put their three-game winning streak on the line when they travel to New Jersey on Sunday to face the New York Jets.
Things have not always gone according to plan for the Browns when they are the road team, as they have dropped four of their last five road games against the Jets. That includes last year’s game, when the special teams broke down to allow two return touchdowns, and the 2020 game where COVID wiped out almost all of Cleveland’s wide receivers.
Cleveland’s three-game
winning streak has been fueled by the defense and an offense that has been good in the fourth quarter. The defense is taking a hit this week with starting defensive tackles Mason Graham and Mike Hall Jr. out with injuries. But the offense is intact, so perhaps this will be the week they put together a more complete game.
The Jets are riding a three-game losing streak and are coming off an embarrassing performance against the Chicago Bears. But as the winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers showed on Thursday night, you can’t take any team for granted in the NFL, and that is doubly true for the Browns.
It is the Browns vs. the Jets in what could be a classic trap game for Cleveland, and one where the weather may have an impact. Here is everything you need to know about the game.

A Final Quote
The Browns got off to a slow start in the running game, but have rushed for 244 total yards in the past two games. The improvement has been a collective effort, according to offensive coordinator Travis Switzer:
“I think that we’ve improved every week in that area and in all areas of the run game. It’s very rarely one thing, right? I think that our guys have really taken to heart the strain and finish piece of it. I think we’re starting to displace the line of scrimmage more and more every week. That’s shown up. I think our running backs are getting a little bit more comfortable with the things that we’re doing, and then us as a staff too. Especially in year one, there’s going to be a learning curve through the first few weeks, and just continuing to learn about our guys and what they do well and how we expand in those areas. So, I think it’s all parts of it, but it’s improved every week, and we’re going to continue to do that.”
