Happy Sunday Husky fans. The Husky coaches spent the last couple of weeks on the road recruiting (mainly checking out 2027 recruits as well as some other underclassmen). Several new offers went out in the 2027 class and
here is a look at a few of them:
4 star offensive tackle Oluwasemilore Olubobola from St Peters Prep HS, NJ received a Husky offer on the 21st of January. Olubobola, who is rated as the 7th best offensive tackle in the 2027 class and 2nd best player in New Jersey, holds offers from around the country including Texas, Oregon, Nebraska, Ohio State, Michigan, and Miami. Listed at 6’6” and around 275 pounds Olubobola has an ideal tackle frame and played in the Under Armour all star game game this year (scouts said he has a huge ceiling). The Huskies would love to land a talented player like Olubobola but it will be a massive challenge with all of the schools that are after him.
3 star safety Ryan Wooten who is also from St Peter’s Prep, was also offered by the Husky staff a few days ago. The Husky staff has been very active in the Northeast and has been extending several offers over the last couple of years (trying to make in-roads there). Wooten is a bigger safety that is listed at 6’2” and around 175 pounds and he currently holds offers from Florida, Nebraska, Minnesota, and UW. 247sports has him rated as the 43rd best safety in the country and 15th best player in New Jersey in the class of 2027.
3 star wide receiver Briceson Thrower from North Forney HS, TX was another offer that got extended after the Husky coaches checked him out. Listed at 6’3” and around 175 pounds Thrower has a big frame and big-time weapon for his team. Thrower holds offers Texas, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas A&M, and several other schools. The Huskies have already extended 18 offers in the state of Texas and they have emphasized the state of Texas over the last couple of cycles (thrower is the 5th wide receiver in Texas to get offered by the Huskies).
Husky coaches have extended 181 scholarships in the 2027 class already (last year they extended 242) and the coaches will continue to scour the country to find the best talent. The staff has made it clear that they are willing to recruit nationally to put together the best team that they could. That is all for today and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
