Barcelona president Joan Laporta has teased a move for Julian Alvarez amid speculation he will leave Atletico Madrid for the Catalans this summer.
Alvarez has confirmed he wants a transfer away from Atletico but has stopped short of mentioning Barcelona explicitly, saying only that he wants to “fulfill a dream.”
Laporta hasn’t mentioned Alvarez explicitly either but did talk transfers with El Chiringuito as he celebrated his birthday on Monday.
“It’s clear that dreams come true if you work hard and
fight for them,” he said. “Most players, and this fills us with pride, want to come to Barça.
Laporta was then asked about players with “unfulfilled dreams” and responded: “Hopefully, we can fulfill the dreams of the players who want to come to Barça.”
Yet Barcelona will have to spend big to make Alvarez’s dreams come true, with reports claiming Atletico want 150 million euros from the Catalans for the Argentina international.
