Colorado’s battle with the TCU Horned Frogs is set to kick off shortly, and multiple key Buffaloes will miss action in Fort Worth due to injury.
Offensively, CU’s running back room has been hit hard by
the injury bug, as both Simeon Price and DeKalon Taylor will be inactive for tonight’s game. Both players got banged up in CU’s early non-conference slate and missed action against BYU last Saturday. Price and Taylor were the Buffs’ most productive backs early in the season, but Micah Welch and Drelon Miller have done a fantastic job picking up the slack and making sure CU can move the ball on the ground.
Price and Taylor’s absence will be felt the most when the Buffs have the ball, but receivers Isaiah Hardge, Tyler Westbrook and Jack Hestera, tight end Sav’ell Smalls, and offensive linemen Phillip Houston and Tyler Brown, will sit for injury as well.
Defensively, Colorado’s injury report looks nearly identical to last week’s. Cornerback RJ Johnson is once again out, and his absence will be felt the most, while safeties Terrance Love and TJ Branch will also sit due to injury. On the defensive line, Samuel Okunlola is will sit to deal with the nagging injury he’s been nursing, and Tavian Coleman will also be inactive. DT Gavriel Lightfoot underwent surgery this week, so he will be inactive for the foreseeable future.
Gametime decisions include three members of CU’s defensive line: Anquin Barnes, Alex McPherson and Brandon Davis-Swain. All three players have been mainstays in CU’s rotation up front, so having them available in Fort Worth would be a big boost for the Buffs.
