Former Kentucky Football quarterback Will Levis has been waived by the Tennessee Titans, according to Ian Rapoport of ESPN and NFL Network.
Levis’ NFL career opened with a bang in 2023 when he threw four touchdown passes in his first career start against the Atlanta Falcons. Levis completed 19 of 29 passes for 238 yards and four touchdowns, including three to DeAndre Hopkins, to lead the Titans to a much-needed 28-23 victory.
From there, however, Levis’ career featured plenty of ups and downs. Mike
Vrabel was fired following the 2023 season, and Brian Callahan, who had previously served as the offensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals, took over as head coach. Callahan was eventually fired after two seasons, with the Titans turning to an interim head coach.
Tennessee then drafted Levis’ replacement with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, selecting quarterback Cam Ward. Levis missed the entire 2025 season while recovering from shoulder surgery, hoping to return fully healthy in 2026. Instead, the Titans have now waived him.
In 21 career games, Levis finished with a 5-16 record as a starter while completing 61.0% of his passes for 3,899 yards, 21 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. He averaged 7.0 yards per attempt and finished with 221.9 fantasy points.
Levis was selected No. 33 overall by Tennessee in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft after an impressive career at Kentucky.
Meanwhile, when Levis was at Kentucky, he had a 17-7 record as a starter. He also threw for 5,233 yards and 54 total touchdowns in two seasons with the Wildcats while completing 65.7% of his passes and throwing 23 interceptions.
His best season came in 2021, when he helped lead Kentucky to a 10-3 record and a Citrus Bowl victory over Iowa, but Levis’ second season was not the best, as he dealt with injuries, and Kentucky finished with a 7-6 record.
Now, Levis will look to find a new NFL home and get another opportunity to continue his career, but it is sad, as Levis had a reunion with former Kentucky teammate Wan’Dale Robinson, who signed with the Titans during the offseason.
